Weekend Wrap Up

Friday, we ate Lemongrass takeout at our friends house. It was delicious and there were so many options we had a little bit of everything. Ryder has been trying more and more stuff and eating better since we saw the doctor and she told him he has to eat if he wants to be a doctor/sports person when he grows up. WIN! I was finally able to meet my friend Peggen's adorable kitty Axle, isn't he the sweetest smooshed faced cat ever?! The kids had so much fun playing with him, and wrestling, and watching shows on our phones. The adults were able to watch Meet the Millers while they were entertained and it was SO FUNNY! If you haven't seen it, redbox it ASAP because it is amazing!

Saturday, we had a wedding in Troutdale Oregon at the McMenamins.
So I took the car to get the oil change with Ryder early in the morning while Brandon slept in, after we got coffee . Ninja turtles, power rangers, brushing mom's hair, and a pad of paper and pen; that is how we survived
The winner.
I treid all these on and Ryder said the bottom left one looked liked zipped up mashed potatoes. What a sweetheart.

Ryder and I then ran to the grocery store and got all the fixings for breakfast, came home cleaned up and got started! Brandon and Ryder ate their little hearts out and it was fun, I dont usually make more than pancakes for weekend breakfast so adding some toast and eggs to the plate felt serious.
I was on such a roll and do hyped up doing all this stuff in one short morning we decided to also take a trip to the Goodwill Christmas store that is open seasonally and we hadn't been out yet.

SCORE!

From the Goodwill Christmas store (off of Yelm Hwy here locally) we found a mini tree for Ryder's room complete with lights and ornaments and a ton of other wonderful goodies!

A couple new holiday books for Ryder
a $4 Christmas tree with lights AND ornaments
A Rudolf to count down the
days until Christmas ($3)
A Santa cookie jar ($4)!!!
(to replace the well loved pumpkin)

These beautiful, brand new, soft hand towels for only $.79!
Brandon showed homes and while he was gone I was feeling so tried but I kept going getting Ryder and myself together for the wedding and 4 hour drive. Unfortunately by the time he actually got home I was so exhausted I just ran myself right into the ground and became the biggest lazy baby on the planet. I really tried to push through for the wedding, but I went to hard and my body was mad.

Dr. Brandon called for lots of rest and fulfilling a few cravings, okay I may have called for fulfilling cravings but he completed the need. I asked for grapefruit, Cheetos and garlic bread. I know. Random.

Sunday, got up with Ryder for breakfast again while Brandon slept in and I started picking up since the house was ignored yesterday afternoon with getting ready for the wedding and getting pooped out. Dishes, vacuuming, laundry, the works. Ryder and I decided to wake Brandon up with snuggles and kisses then a massive tickle war next thing you know he's up and making a smoothie. Success!!!! Then he needed to show a home before we helped his mom move (which was more him doing it all since I can't lift over 30 lbs and she can't use her right arm).

Da Mustache
Ryder Mustache

We came home and Brandon had to run to his football banquet (3 hours of gaming 7th graders) and Ryder and I thought being at home sounded better, I didnt realize when we made this plan he was going to pass out and I was going to have to finish my chores! -_- Laundry all folded up and he slept from 5:30pm - 7:00am!! WOWZERS!

I was REALLY hoping to get Christmas stuff out, but I need the help of my big strong husband (hopefully he's reading and getting the hint, maybe if you see him you should suggest it); This was all I could manage:

Close up of the chalkboard I made,
with some Ryder finger smudges for good measure.
Just a small shelf on our stairs decorated with a few
things I could reach without boxes toppling over me
or getting stuck in the attic.

Catch ya later!

Weekend Wrap Up

Friday, we snagged Ry from school then headed home to make a plan (and add a coat of paint to my chalk board).
picked up Ry
We decided to eat at a restaurant called i.talia but once we got there it wasn't what we were feeling, we graciously bowed out (ran like we were skipping out on a check) and headed downtown for some Thai food at Nari. It's always fun eating there and playing eye spy with Ryder, the food is so good. I mean SO GOOD. Eat there. I love food. Brandon got curry and Ryder and I shared Thai Fried Rice. mmmm.

Saturday, Brandon spent the day working at an open house so I spent the day cleaning and doing Ryder stuff (ninja turtles and being chased around the house with a cross bow, thanks again Auntie Jojo and Uncle Joe!). We even got a mid afternoon visit from some awesome friends Jill & Lenny dropping off some sweet hand me downs from their munchkin Barron to our little Baby, I am so excited to try the Baby Bullet! If only they came out ready to eat real food and had teeth I'd be in business, I'm not sure how long I can freeze food though. Too soon, so hard but it's too soon.

I also finished my chalk board for above Baby's crib/ photo prop.

When Brandon was home finally we were all starving and Baby screamed out for burgers & onion rings, what!? They kid knows what he likes, I wonder if I can put that in the Baby Bullet? Maybe not... anyway, Norma's is delicious and just down the road from us in Lacey.

I was so exhausted by this time and after finding out FAO Schwarz closed their Seattle location I was over the idea of going to Seattle, we went home and REEEEEEELAXED.

Sunday was...
COOKIE DAY!
You know I've been looking for thumbprints everywhere and this is not nearly what I thought I'd be doing but I gave it a go because Brandon said Almond extract sounded interesting and good.. I personally thought they were TOO SWEET but the flavor was delicious.
You can find the recipe on my Pinterest HERE. I know what you're thinking, they can't be the same there's no glaze, no I didn't glaze them after tasting because they were SO SWEET ALREADY.

All of the ingredients

 After chilling

fill with jam add sugar on top

Baked and now cooling

Ready to take some to Da.

Da is the most amazing and special woman in our lives to date. She is Brandon's grandma affectionately named Da by Ryder (and she just loves it). Da is sneaking up on 89 years old and just found out she will be moving to an assisted living facility and is taking it as best as can be expected. She is such a social butterfly I know she'll just love it once she gets into the swing of things and of course she'll have all of her doting grandchildren visiting often! We are taking these delicious cookies to her tonight to give her some cheer and sweets, Da has quite the sweet tooth! :)
