Friday first stop after 5 was the
Hands on Children's Museum for a little fun, and I'll tell you what, IT'S A BLAST!!! I seriously love that on the first Friday night of each month they have a free night, I've been dying to check it out but I like to know what I'm paying for before putting money down, now I know! It's so fun and if you're off a little before 5 and can go at 5 o'clock and not have to run home first it's seriously not too bad. We beat the rush and left when they got there. Some parents don't attend their older children well and it's hard to remember they are just kids and having too much fun to pay attention maybe to little ones but they don't mean to not notice. I found that If I asked an older kid who was hogging a station if we could have a turn they'd almost come out of a trans like state and were happy to share! They are just as excited as the little ones.

We had our first terrifying experience of losing Ryder, but let me back track a minute here and explain the moments before. You walk in go to the counter, make payment, get a hand stamp and a pamphlet letting you know the events you can participate in for the day, then they give each kid a red apple card and explain they have a red apple just like this and if you get lost you can meet your parents there. I stuck the card in Ryder's pocket and told him if he does get lost to grab his card and head to the apple and Mommy and Daddy will come get him. Well while he was climbing up and down this tree fort thing he went up then down a slide before either of us saw him. Well he realized he was lost when he came back up the tree and no one was waiting for him (I was running up and down the stairs trying to find him in this tree) so he went back down and went to the apple just like we told him to but since we weren't there either he walked up to the women who worked at the counter and we had checked in with when we arrived and she went with him to find us. I love that he a) found someone he recognized to help him b)went to our meeting spot and c) talked to the people he knew worked there!! He is so smart and it makes me so incredibly happy that he would follow all the steps we have drilled into that tiny 3 year old brain of his. It is more rewarding than anything to know that in case of an emergency they know what to do.

We did what most families do, spent some quality time eating pizza and playing games at Dirty Daves. We even shared a nice cold pitcher... of root beer. It was delicious. When we were leaving we weren't ready to go home so Brandon asked what I wanted to do.. |
Obviously I answered with, walk aimlessly around Target without being rushed. Hahahaha he fell for it! We were in Target in a matter of minutes and I think we all even managed to have a little fun, have you guys seen these hilarious foam wigs they have for Halloween? I ended up getting a few Tee's to add to my collection (SHOCKER) and Brandon found a glitter pumpkin for the mantle so I'll stop telling him it's missing something. I think a crow or a shiny skull would do the trick but I'll take a black glitter pumpkin for the win especially since he was considerate enough to grab it when he saw it.

was our one full day together (ish) because I worked Sunday, but Brandon still had an early morning appointment and had to coach a football game. Small rant, I don't understand why they have to go to watch the game before and sit at the football field for 3 hours instead of going just a little before they've asked the kids to get there, BUT NO! 3 hours + over time for the actual game he's actually going to be coaching. *insert eye roll here* Any how we found time in between his schedule for some family activities.
After his morning appointment we went to a family fair thing in Lacey where they had a bounce house, face paint, obstacle course, balloon animals (or swords, guess what Ryder picked), jugglers, clowns, candy, and other various activities. That was fun and we even left on a good note! After we finished we dropped Brandon off at the football field even earlier than we had thought since we were over there... and I took Ryder home to force him to nap. THAT'S MY FAVORITE! Well he took that nap and went to sleep crying but woke up so refreshed and happy, it was worth the fight!
When he woke up it was time to go get Brandon, you know since he said his phone was going to die but the game will be over FOR SURE by 4.... well we sat in the car for 30-40 minutes waiting for him as usual luckily we had a balloon sword for him to play with and he even turned it into a pirate hat all by himself! YAY for extra free entertainment.

After the game was
finally over we drove out to the
Schilter Family Farm to do some fun fall activities!! It's amazing for $15 ($5 each) we got to take Ryder to do EVERYTHING his little heart desired!! We went in the hay maze (a few times), jumped into a huge pile of hay for what seemed like hours, went down a wicked fast plastic slide, did some serious pumpkin bowling (and this kid loves bowling), went on a hay ride through the pumpkin fields (but didn't pick any out just yet), AND he got a pony ride because some awesome stranger had an extra ticket!!! I have to say it was a blast and even though Ryder smashed his face into a water pump we still had so much fun, I even joked with him that "at least you don't need stitches!" and he thought that was pretty hilarious and worth not crying about any more! We stayed until closing when
they kicked us out we realized it was getting a little chilly and dark out. As soon as we started to leave Ryder wanted a pumpkin, but we told him to think of all the fun things we had time to do and not focus on the one thing we didn't get... yeah right. HAHAHA
Sunday I had to work bright and early (for a Sunday) at 9:30 and I was given the button and origami dog station! It is so much fun, the kids love that they get their very own magnet and are able to fold paper to look like a dog then color in the details. I personally have so much fun seeing all the creative ways they come up with how to decorate their dogs. Brandon brought Ryder towards the end of the event so they could pick me up and do a quick walk though and get Ryder his FREE pumpkin! So much fun, and he's still practicing stop drop and roll. After 4 when I got off Brandon had a few appointments, so home we went and nap time it was for this exhausted mama!
When he came home we packed up Ryder and the dogs AND Ryder's little bike and headed for a near by portion of the Chehalis Western Trail and enjoyed sucking in every last breath of light this gorgeous fall day had to offer! It was dark by 7 so it was fast; but the leaves crunching under our feet, chimney's smoke filling the air near by, even some last minute bar-b-ques were cooking up dinners. It was perfect. Our dogs and our boy racing down the trail while we got to hold hands and enjoy some peace and quiet. Those moments are so special, until ratchet and ziggy both decide to poop all down their legs, hahaha TMI? Probably but so hilarious watching Brandon use baby wipes on them and then have to give them baths while I cooked dinner. I do not envy the specified "blue jobs" in our life! HAHAHA
My sweet and oldest friend Alana got Baby his first little onesie and I had to send a picture of him trying it on. HAHAHA
Monday is not a weekend but I filled out my last 3 months of time sheets before Baby gets here!
